We are aware of the fact that it's very difficult to buy a used kites, bars or boards when you can not see the actual condition of the item. For that reason we decided to give you the time to check the kite, bar or board yourself. If you are unhappy for any reason, simply return the kite within 14 days after shipping date by Icaruskitesurfshop for a full refund*. Only the shipping costs are at your expense.

_{*For kites : you can check a kite, even inflate it, but testing is not allowed. The kite must return in the same ( clean ) condition as we sent it.}

The Icarus crew decided it was time for a 5 Star Rating System which we use to have a more detailed understanding of the state of the gear.

Kite inspection
guidelines:

• Canopy check
• Leading edge and Struts check
• One pump check
• Seams check
• Bridle, Pigtail and Pulley check
• 1 night pressure check
• repair check (if the kite has been repaired)

Board inspection
guidelines:

• Dents & Scratches check on top and bottom
• Pads & Straps & Handle check
• Fin check
• Tip & Rail check

Bar inspection
guidelines:

• Line quality check
• Knots check
• Pigtail check
• Line Length check
• Safety check
• Hardware check

Icarus 5 star rating guidelines

5 Stars: Excellent to new condition. Almost the same as new, with only a few uses. No wear and tear.

4 Stars: Very good condition. This gear has been used but no repairs, no remarks. Only minor signs of use.

3 Stars: Good condition. This gear has been used and has marks of being used but is still in a good condition and ready to be used for many more years to come. The gear can have a repair but as long as the repair is professional and the rest of the equipment is still in good condition, it is considered as good condition.

2 Stars: Used condition. There is a lot of usage marks and possible repairs, but these kind of gear are perfect for a beginner that doesn't want to spend too much on his first kite, with the knowledge the gear will still be able to use for a few more

1 Star: Very Used condition with major repairs. We cannot promise these kites will be able for use for over 2 seasons after buying it. These kites will ask for a more specific maintenance. Price for these kites will be very low.

*Stars 5 to 2 have a 1 year warranty period, while 1 star kites have a 6 months warranty period

Kites:

• 5 Stars – Kite stays inflated during the pressure check, crispy canopy (shows that the coating is still in perfect shape) and no usage marks.Leading Edge, struts, one pump system, bridle, seams and pully don't show any usage marks.
• 4 Stars – Kite stays inflated during the pressure check, crispy canopy. Kite can have usage marks like light spots. Leading Edge, struts, one pump system, bridle, seams and pully don't show any usage marks. Trailing Edge can show light marks of usage.
• 3 Stars – Kite stays inflated during the pressure check, crispy canopy. Canopy shows usage marks. Leading Edge, struts, one pump system, bridle, seams and pully show usage marks. Trailing Edge can show marks of usage.Repairs can be present.
• 
  2 Stars – Kite stays inflated during the pressure check. Canopy shows usage marks and can be softer. Leading Edge, struts, one pump system, bridle, seams and pully show usage marks. Trailing Edge can show marks of usage.Minor and/or major Repairs can be present.
  
• 1 Star – Kite stays inflated during the pressure check. Canopy shows heavy usage marks and is softer. Leading Edge, struts, one pump system, bridle, seams and pully show heavy usage marks. Trailing Edge shows marks of usage. Minor and/or major Repairs are be present.

Boards:

• 5 Stars – The board, Pads/Straps, fins and handle are in the same state as a new board.
• 4 Stars – There are really light marks of usage (tiny scratch) on the the board, Pads/Straps or fins .
• 3 Stars – Board has got marks of usage, possibly repaired if neccessary. Pads/Straps or fins show more signs of usage but are still in good condition.
• 2 Stars – Board had had a life before but is perfect for a beginner or someone who is looking for a cheaper board.
• 1 Star – Board is really old and heavily used. There is damage on the board or the board has been repaired. Pads/Straps and Fins show marks of heavy use.

Bars:

• 5 Stars – Lines are in tune. No discoloration of the lines. Safety systems works perfectly. There are no usage marks on the bar, lines, pigtails, depower line & system.
• 4 Stars – Lines are in tune. Slight discoloration of the lines can be present. Safety systems works perfectly. There are minor usage marks on the bar, lines, pigtails, depower line & system.
• 3 Stars – Lines are in tune. Discoloration of the lines is present. Safety systems works perfectly. There are usage marks on the bar, lines, pigtails, depower line & system.
• 2 Stars – Lines are in tune. Discoloration of the lines is present. Safety systems works perfectly. There are heavy usage marks on the bar, lines, pigtails, depower line & system. This bars are still good to use for a few more years.
• 1 Star – The bar, lines, safety, depower,.. etc show heavy usage marks on almost all parts. The bar still works, but will need maintenance for longer use.
